Saving lives can't wait: the time for action is now

Saving Lives Can't Wait

Suicide rates in England are as high now as they were over 20 years ago. But suicide can be prevented.

Following the General Election, the time for action is now. Together, we can push for change that will help save lives.

I call on the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Wes Streeting, to make a commitment to taking the strong, decisive action that will achieve the lowest national suicide rate ever recorded in England.

This must include every Government department taking action to prevent suicides; national and local government working closely together; proper funding for all local and national suicide prevention activity; and addressing the impact of economic inequality in suicide.
